These were the first 2 effects I were to create while finding the VFX art direction for our game. I was experimenting with many different looks to make my art team happy and also different techniques to save time during entire development. To mimic hand-drawn style I've came up with an idea to put different looking procedural textures into UV of voronoi as it separates different levels of shading which kind of looks like what we were aiming for! (Provoke effect is a good example of it)
